Right, we're on then. I'll bring my ebookwise 1150 (sadly the small break in the screen just massively propagated this morning, but it is still working!). Definitly time for a new reader now!

I've just emailed the manager at the Gower street store about a possible demo of the Sony reader as I thought I'd probably get through to him/her quicker that way than by phone. Though I will try phoning if I don't get a reply by Tuesday.

Cool, I was just planning to put my ebookwise on the table (the costa coffee shop is realively small and generally not that busy).

I was impressed with the Cybook I saw at Edinburgh -- as Zelda's Stick on MR Meetups suggests I think it is worth having a list of what may be on view (It's worth reading the main points on that).

I'll also bring the MR logo (only A4 -- don't have larger printer) to help identify ourselves (I think it survived Edinburgh!).

really sorry, but I won't be able to join you - I have the joys of teh parents descending for the weekend - just when I was hoping to curl up with my sparkling new sony 505 and 160 classics. I will be thinking of you. To be honest I would be more likely to jump at early evening meets in London cos I travel into the centre to work 5 days a week and so tend not to want to at weekends.

If we can impose on the moderators to update the first page with some details and put a link on the MR home page, we may get a few more people willing to attend who haven't yet ventured into the Lounge.

There seem to be quite a lot of London (or near-London) people who may appear....

I also hope to attend with my device of choice, a cybook gen3.

If the gods of technical support permit, of course. I'll sacrifice a goat, or possibly one of the local foxes to the fibrelink god just in case. I know! How about a COLT? !

regards

I have a nagging feeling I'm supposed to be doing something else that weekend!

But if not, I might just pop along & bring my Hanlin V2 if anyone's interested in seeing it...

If both Snowman and mrdini can make it we'd have pretty much all the available dedicated ebook readers for comparison (except the Iliad book edition). That would be great!

As I'm going to start a new job on the 1st of October (now that I'm a newly minted PhD), I'll actually be able to afford buying one and with the sadly progressing slow decline of my ebookwise it is entirely neccessary. So I'm really looking forward to seeing them all in comparison.

My partner Dave will probably come along (so far I haven't been able to convince him of ebooks over paperbooks, so he does admit that we are out of space to put paper books).

Ah, I didn't realise that! Guess I'll make a bit of effort to come! (My friend's offered to let me bring her V6 as well)

That said, two more ebooks readers that we need to find to complete the lineup

Hanlin V3
Readius <--- I'm really curious to see this.

ooooh. Lots of devices, and ones I've not seen before too. Great!

I doubt we will have more devices than all the other meet-ups, but we can at least try! (hint, hint!)

It's great to have a lot of devices, especially for people who haven't seen them before. It's also good to see instances of the same device -- it might help give an idea of how much variation or age you get with them.

I'll try and bring a camera as well, but it would be great if others do to!

(I'll see if I can talk my better half into coming along as well -- that way partners can get together and shake their heads at our sad antics....)

sorry about your ebookwise ! much as i covet an e-ink screen i'd be really sad if / when my eb-1150 gave up the ghost...
