I haven't really used ADE-enabled Android apps much, so I cannot be sure. But ISTR that the OverDrive app does exactly that, and it is possible Aldiko does the same. Double-check to make sure.

When looking in ADE authorization information, there are two options to choose between as default for authorization.

Why is that and what does Aldiko have to do inside ADE? And could this be something that resulted in my problems. See first post.

This computer can read conAdobe DRM protected content authorized to the following account(s).

xxxxxx@gmail.com | Adobe ID (urn:uuid:xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx)

Your account login is xxxxxx@Gmail.com | Aldiko Feedbooks (urn:uuid:xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxx)

And can one then add another persons account, to be able to authoize different person's devices through the same ADE and comptuter? Then I could at least when travelling add my account to a computer with ADE, borrow the book, aithorize it and transfer it to device.

AFAIK ADE can only be authorized to one account at a time so you'd have to deauthorize the other account, authorize your and do your stuff then deauthorize your account and authorize the original account again. I don't know if doing so would use up another one of the original accounts authorizations or not.

One of these portable versions of ADE might be an option, but I know nothing about the source of these installs...

Thanks.

Does anyone know of a DRM removal tool as an app for Android? I can't find anyone, only know the regular ones for computers, like the plug in for Calibre.

Since I can download the book from the library and authorize it via Aldiko (on phone) with the ascm link file, but the device don't accept it even though the Aldiko (on phone) and the ADE (on computer) use the same adobe account ID, I thought that I could perhaps just get rid of the DRM before transferring it to the device.

Do you mean that a portable ADE could also perhaps be started separately from the ADE installed on a computer and used with my account? Interesting.

Didn't think it would be this hard to solve the problem. Might just by a newer phone, so I can use ADE on it.

Right. Install the portable ADE on a USB stick and then plug it into whatever computer you want to run it on at a given time.

ADE Portable works

Fantastic, it worked. Now I can at least borrow a computer, download the ascm file from the library, use my own portable ADE to authorize and download the actual book and then simply connect my device and tell the portable ADE to transfer it (or just copy the book to the device).

I noticed a nice little thing though. When I started the portable ADE from the usb-stick, the existing MyDE folder on my computer changed temporarily to "My Digital Editions.BackupByADEPortable" (with all books inside) and the created a new temporary My DE folder, in which my downloaded book appeared. When I shut down the portable ADE, the temporary portable MyDE folder disapeared and the temporary My Digital Editions.BackupByADEPortable renamed itself to My Digital Editions again.

Nice little function if the borrowed computer already has ADE and a MyDE folder installed.

Another thing I noticed was that if a book has already been borrowed and authorized by another ADE, even it by the same Adobe ID, I got this message:
"Unable to download
Error getting License Server Communication Problem:
E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER"

Anyway, it worked with new borrowed books.

This should be a sticky of how t solve this kind of problem for people on the move without phones or with older phones like mine that can't run ADE. While we wait until we get ADE in the devices.... And when they do, would it be possible to have them on the older devices, as long as one update the firmware?
