In short, I don't like omnibuses. I buy them, but I either split them up when they're not too many books (most of them), or I extract the book I'm going to read (Delphi Classics).

By the way, in that thread I said:

They actually started doing that with their Parts Editions, but those are more expensive than the omnibus versions.

Yes they are more expensive, for $1 more ( ) you get the omnibus and the individual titles.

For example Shakespeare is $4.99 for the omnibus and $5.99 for the omnibus and the 70+ individual items.

This (though I wish there were a way to track one's progress within an individual book, as well as within the omnibus itself). Plus, omnibus editions come in handy when binge-reading popular book series borrowed from the library; ensures each title in the series is available when one's ready to read it.

Never read him. Which of his works would you suggest starting with?

Well, at this point in time, the (for example) Sir Arthur Conan Doyle normal edition costs €1.38. The Parts Edition costs €5.38. Very often, the parts edition is significantly more expensive than the normal edition.

When I started buying Delphi Classics, there were no parts editions, and I don't feel like buying almost 60 bundles all over again (and then reorganise them again too; and not 60 times, but 60 x a_lot_of_books...).

Thanks I haven't read everything yet; it's (on top of my head) an 850 page book now. It's on my reader as an in-between read, per story, just like the Sherlock Holmes bundles

Pity I can't get the Delphi Classics. They have even more stories than Feedbooks, but because some of them are not yet in the PD in Europe, I'm not officially allowed to buy the omnibus. I *could* do it, but I don't want to receive a warning from Delphi; they might have a check in place, looking if someone from Europe orders a non-Europe omnibus or something.

I would prefer to have fewer files, rather than more files, so I will purchase an omnibus or bundle of a series, especially if it costs less than the individual books together. I don't split, since I typically do not read books in a series out of order.

If you like very classical-style writing (an earlier and older style of writing, in my opinion one that is very Gothic and atmospheric), then I would recommend that you try "The Three Impostors." This is a novel with interconnected stories.

I checked Machen at Delphi Classic. The normal omnibus edition is not available in Europe and they tell/warn you not to buy it.

There is however no such warning with the parts edition ??

At least some of his work if not all (including The Three Impostors) is available through Gutenberg.

I own the Delphi edition, as well as these two:

1) "Arthur Machen Collected Works: 23 Tales of Horror & Other Fiction Short Stories" - Machen http://www.amazon.com/Arthur-Machen-...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

2) "The Arthur Machen Megapack: 25 Classic Works" - Machen
