I use Synchonize! X Plus, but I'm not entirely happy with it. The current version crashes when I try to do one particular operation -- I really ought to get around to reporting the bug.

I also looked ay Folders Synchronizer X, and I've just come across ChronoSync.

The important feature needed is a method of synchronisation that keeps a record of what files were present at the last synchronisation, so that it can tell whether a mis-match in contensts means a file has been added or a file has been deleted.

I couldn't find any free sync software that did this.

I took a look. It's free. And it would (as far as I could tell) do the syncing right. But I don't want to use a command line, and the Mac OS X GUI is awkward, and crashed, and doesn't have auto-activation. Still, if I hadn't already paid for my solution, I might have persisted a little more.

Some may find find it useful. It's available here.

Microsoft's free Synctoy - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en - is quite good for syncing between Windows and any drive which shows up with a (consistent) letter.
