I read at maximum brightness on eink quite often. I'll turn it down in a dark room. But normally, I love it as bright as it goes. (In fact sometimes I want to turn the light up, check, and find it's already at max).

In bed, I don't always read with the light on because I have an Ikea clip-on lam that's attached to the headboard. I can point the light right at the screen and have no need for the front light. The one i have is in some shade of blue but it seenms I cannot find that color on the Ikea website.

I can't imagine using a clip on light on a device that's lighted. That's the whole reason I use lighted readers, so I don't have to clip on.
