By the time I started fiddling with that level of the system, I'd already switched to Arch Linux. Arch uses systemd, which is noticeably not bash on account of being conf-based.

So... +1 for systemd even if it is the dreaded all-devouring behemoth.
I think OpenRC is still good 'ole bash.
