The firmware for Kobo Readers is not glitchy. You probably have an old version and updating to the latest will solve these glitches.

Also, we have threads here (or is it one main thread?) where you can request the image and, with a little work, get that new image onto your Kobo.

micro SD cards do fail. I had to throw one away recently. (No it was not from a Kobo). The nice thing about many of the Kobo devices is that the mSD card can be replaced. I have a larger card in my Kobo Mini, for example. (I think mine is an 8 GB card but 32 GB works fine, too). Of course, the only one that can be opened completely painlessly is the Mini.

Sorry for the confusion. The Glo HD was asleep, and the red light was on.
