Why don't we just be platform independent and say "file browser"?

That also matches Explorer++, Xplorer², XYplorer, Mult Commander, Total Commander, and the vast plethora of alternative file browsers available for Windows, all of which support drag-and-drop too!

I'm sure that the OP is as capable as anyone else of substituting the appropriate Mac terminology. The point remains that you really don't need to use the "Add Books" button on Calibre at all - you can just drag and drop from your computer's file system onto the Calibre window.
