If I am watching TV in real time I read during the commercials. I also take my HD+ to the theater with me and read before the movie starts.

I also read in bed to fall asleep. Very rarely do I read a book so exciting that it keeps me awake.
Practicing meditation has taught me to catch wandering thoughts and calm down. Ideally this should be done with full concentration before going to bed. You should try to find a nighttime routine that does not excite you but calms you down. Obviously reading shouldn't be a part of it in your case. |

My main problem with reading at bedtime is if it's a real page-turner, it's hard to put down the book and go to sleep. Re-reading an old familiar book is good at bedtime because there's no anxiety over what's going to happen next.

Usually I read to fall asleep and it works great.

With the exception that your habit of insomnia started when you started to read in the bed, so could be present a certain element of novelty, that could easily disturb your brain. Best remedy: go to run and before to sleep do an activity as meditation. |
