I'm running gentoo and by the time I bring wine up, I've had a few updates to it and things are not quite right. I can usually get things working in a few minutes, but by the time I'm running wine, I'm already annoyed and I have little patients for it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad wine is there and I have used it, but the android app has been a lot easier to grab the file from and (until recently) has done just what I need.

Fair enough. But I think WINE would still be faster than a VM.

As a Gentoo user you should be used to waiting. Source distros are a bit too much for me.

It's not, but it may be the only way sometimes. K4PC won't work for magazines, where K4Android does.
