That's a bit dismissive. There are reasons not want the basic and not to want the light always on.

On my Voyage I can take my light to 0 and I can not notice any light. But I have to say I never read in the pure dark. But do read in low light a lot at night so my wife can sleep.

I'm guessing the reason one would want to turn the light all the way off would be to save a little bit of energy (probably negligible, minutes rather than hours, but who can say they have measured it?).

But I'm also guessing the reason it does not turn all the way off is so you can get going with reading, even in total darkness. Otherwise it would be difficult to turn on the light so you could read (or to use as an emergency flashlight).

I solved the azw3 problem, I noticed I can get my bad formated epub's in a good azw3 if I import a publisher font while converting. This is way easier than adjusting the code in every epub I have prolbems with and I can enjoy the azw3 format now (with the font ramp trick now).

I would love to drag and drop folders somehow, I have my collection in perfect condition in folders on my windows computer. I use and like the collection option a lot (I prefer it over the kobo my wife has, it works much better and it looks really nice), but my first ereader (a Hanlin V3 imported from China and I installed a Russian firmware) was so easy, just drag and drop a folder and it looked great and worked perfect. It saved a lot of time because you could skip Calibre for most part (don't get me wrong, as a librarian I love calibre, but it costs time to get everything perfect).

The Ixtab's Collections Manager (kindlet) looks from a fist glance really interesting.

Do note you can also generate collections based on the folder structure.

It is a top-level button in LS, and in Menu ==> Synchronization in CM.
I prefer LS because it is faster (direct access to the db) vs. CM which lets interactive item-by-item manipulation.

Just got Kindle after my Kobo broke, so lost:
Many fonts & option to + more.
Read HTML as book, not just in web browser.
Translate 4 languages to & from English.
German, French & Chinese dictionaries.
Page N°.
Enter letters + accents.
Games & drawing.

Why are you under the mistaken impression that you've lost most of these abilities? You haven't. You just need to learn how to use your Kindle properly. Have you read the User Guide? That's a good place to start with any device.

I've read the User Guide, see German dic. to download, & I found Spanish translator on internet, so +d that. Still typefaces & accents to find.

Could 1 use space bar to turn to next page?

A kindle is not the same as a Kobo. You can't customise it as much, for example you can't add fonts.

You can enter accented characters by holding down specific keys (usually the primary character).
