Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to take a look at some of these options. I am still kicking myself for not doing my homework well enough to be able to jailbreak my current ereader. Hopefully a friend can help me do the serial jailbreak. Or I may just decide to wait for the softmod jailbreak.
