Sorry, we can't fix Windows here, run a Linux LiveCD.

Isn't there supposed to be a proper driver builtin since Win 8.1?

(Hell, I remember using my Nexus 5 as a USB modem in a pinch without having to do anything special besides letting windows churn for a while, and that's the exact same thing, IIRC).

I have seen some topics, some saying about new 8.1 win driver but it doesnt seem working for me so far. Maybe You have any files I have not found , could You provide links?

Apart from ubuntu, I have tried:

http://developer.toradex.com/knowled...-for-windows-7

But still gettin error 10.

Then tried in registry remove network settings in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\

4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

which means network devices and inside this one I found rndis and deleted the key.

Restarted windows.

Nothing- still device manager finds some unknow device, no update driver works.

Now I have NO usb ethernet gadget device in my printers and devices window in control panel.

Maybe I have messed up with drivers so much I should clean reinstall windows?

Make a clean install of Ubuntu 14.05 and run Windows-10 in Virtual Box on it.
Seriously.

Usually, Windows runs faster in VB than on the actually hardware.
(try Windows in VB on Windows first - you will be surprised)

Ok but do You know how can I workaround the problem with Win10 not installing RNDIS like there: http://developer.toradex.com/knowled...-for-windows-7 ?

I bet there is somewhere in registry a leftover.. so I can not install it properly.
Hence people with OS kindle 2.5.8 used hack 0.37 N usb networking and then they could install driver for linux gadget/ethernet on Windows.

OK I have solved it.

First. Use ~ instead of ` in usbNetwork command if You have 3.3 or any other OS than 2.5.8. in kindle DXG.
Second instal driver http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/File:NeoRndis.inf.txt just by clicking inf file if Your windows can;t see the USB Ethernet RDIS gadget.

The rest is just like in http://www.pcworld.com/article/25958...c_display.html

I have used files for DXG v 57

Generally Kindle has up to 2 sec lag to your display in PC/ So better use it for text/excel

OK pc world solution works.

What about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ecu...ature=youtu.be

I tried on win10 pro 64bit. Installed uvnc server and had problems with installing addons uvnc - no path to /driver/xxxx file - I received this message.

The goal was - to have funcionality of 2nd Display resolution etc visibile in control panel / display.

Anyone?

another remark:

I have closed putty, closed Thin VNC server and restarted win10- kindle DXG with 3.3 OS remained connected to the PC.

After boot it occured - that my wifi connected a bit later, but in the meantime without lanuching putty and manually typing in script lines - only with ThinVNC server running - my kindle started working as 2nd display right away.

So maybe there are some connections between apps that have not been fully tested / recognized.

Did you restart ThinVNC yourself or do you have it setup as a "Windows Service" that auto-starts when you boot Windows?

Is you Windows PC also serving as the AP (Access Point) for your Wifi network?

If so, then it (Windows) is working just as you set it up and the Kindle VNC client can survive the network down-time.

Despite the fact it seemed to work , I get occassionally self-restarts from kindle.

I have diagnosed that it has problems with turning off "powerd" - screen saver

Why is that?

Perhaps because the directions are written for the series 2 firmware and you are running the series 3 firmware on a series 2 device?
