Possibly.

Anyway, you can try reverting to the original firmware (assuming you saved it), or you can try updating further to 3.4.2, see here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=263894

Hopefully it will work. But of course, like I said there are no guarantees. These are I think the most invasive Kindle hacks ever published, which makes them unpredictable.

I am glad to see more people have this issue.
I just had my 3rd chatsession with Amazon Support to no avail, it seems that they do not know the DX anymore. Furthermore they did not recognize my 3.2.1 version, that i now understand is a jailbreak. I got mine on ebay a while ago without warning of the jailbreak.

Is it possible to get the official 2.5.8 back on my Kindle DXG without having any backup whatsoever?

I downloaded the latest 2.5.8 update , put it on kindle via my Mac but each time it disappears ....

No -- you need the restore that the original owner created when applying the update hack.


Sadly, Kubrick does not include a DX image.

The only options I can see is to contact the seller and return the DX.
