Not sure where you got your information. There is no longer a page on the official website but when it did exist I believe it said max was 32GB. Here is also a page where it agrees with the 32GB part http://www.cnet.com/products/kobo-glo/specs/. Plus my 64GB microsd is in FAT32 and the device does not work with it.

Edit: This page from their official website says 32GB is max. Just click Kobo glo and any other device and it will say: Option to expand up to 32 GB with a Micro SD card. https://www.kobo.com/devices/compare#ereaders So no it does not work with anything over 32GB

By "Kobo forum", I meant here on MR. There has been lots of discussion about what cards do and don't work. The specs say one thing, experiments show another. Based on what people have tested, a Sandisk card is the most likely to work.

Are you both talking about the same thing? I think you're talking about opening the Kobo and replacing the internal card, but I suspect Goldthreader might be talking about the external slot...

No, we are both talking about the external card. Hence my comment about the specs vs experiments.

I should have included a link before, but https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=232839 discusses using a 64GB card in the external slot of various Kobo ereaders. The timing of the thread means the Aura HD is the most popular, but the Glo is mentioned as working with one. I'd test myself, but I don't have my Glo with me and I get in trouble when I experiment on my wife's Glo.

This pretty much works in every device I've ever tried, I wouldn't doubt it at all.

This is a common trick. When SD cards first went beyond 2GB there are some people that used the 2GB FAT16 format with larger block sizes to achieve 4GB. It worked on some devices. Similarly the FAT32 with larger block sizes can achieve 64GB but it block is really large and some devices may not have enough allocated room to read a block into memory. It is likely to work with the caveat of wasted space on the device.

I have a lot of tablets and have had for years. I've been using 64gb cards in them since they became available.

For a few years I had no problems doing this but in recent years, I'm guessing because of upgrading to newer versions of Android, I've replaced all of the cards on my older tablets with 32gb cards. I was just having too many little problems.

The main problem I had was that the card would suddenly become unavailable to the tablet. I wonder if this might be because of not having room for the larger block size. I use the older tablets mostly for watching TV shows stored on the card so that's usually when it happened. I would think that would be a fairly undemanding task but most of these things have only 512mg RAM or 1gb RAM so I wouldn't be surprised if that was it.

I don't really know much about Android so I'm just guessing of course. And I have no idea how this might apply to ereaders.

Anyway, at least on tablets, I've begun to stay within the tablets specs on card size even after years of doing that with no problems.

Good point. But as the OP was asking about CBR/CBZ support, the file size is probably big enough that the wasted space won't be to bad. And it is the only way to that sort of capacity.
