While I agree the Kindle does a really good job with ebooks, managing collections via LibrarianSync and calibre makes it do an even better job.

And as eschwartz said above, if you have a **lot** of books, then LibrarianSync is a nice add-in. The above means that you will need MrPI installed. And MrPI requires KUAL to be installed (its a KUAL extension). = = = = = Hmm... Maybe we should package up a "book readers' special" collection of the above. Just a late night, random thought. For me, I need the jailbreak so I can change the fonts for books in CJK languages. The default fonts are just too light in color...

It could be good to take this opportunity to set up a January poll and even to set up a new one for February. The second one would be a bit shorter though, so maybe it would make some sense to extend it to the first week of March. After that, we could think about a Spring poll. |

I love to play Interactive Fiction (aka Text Adventures) on my Kindle PW1 (via gargoyle). Since the PW3's keyboard seems to be definitely more accurate & RAM is larger, I hope that playing IF on PW3 will have a much better usability.
That's why I bought PW3 after reading of the possible JB. |

I did this once. It was, umm, unsatisfactory.
I was always tweaking my fonts and I ended up with books with different fonts and different versions of fonts all over the place. Never knew what font I'd get when I opened a book. Plus, the unnecessary duplication offended my sensibility ![]() The font hack lets me have several custom fonts to choose from at any time. In addition, I can change the font used in the UI and make the menu, dictionary, and library listing much more pleasant and readable. The font hack alone is worth the price of admission ![]() |

Either you embed, wait, or buy a different reader that allows side loaded fonts.

You have to remember, if you open the PW3 to access the serial port, you invalidate the warranty.
