Some libraries offer secure PDF for about a 21-day loan.

Actually, after you flash to the new firmware, you can use the new Universal Flasher 2.0 to get back the clock or wait until there are more hacks made to go with the Universal Flasher 2.0.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26831

I plan on trying to make a unified font and hold enter to turn off the 505. So after I am done we'll have the clock, the unified font, and the ability to turn off the 505 by holding enter.

Yes. There have already been reports here of PRS-505 owners being able to read their existing FictionWise Secure Adobe ebooks, and on a PC you can now either use Adobe Reader 7.0 or Adobe Digital Editions. BooksOnBoard recommends DE over Reader 7, but they have Adobe ePubs as well and they are only readable by DE.

Why's no one talking about the SDHC-support?
Which is quite buggy from my findings....

Haven't bothered to scrounge up a SDHC card yet. Also, I already have a 8 Gb memory stick so I wasn't really gagging for it

So what have you found so far? How big a card have you slotted? What did it do?
(Because I might not be gagging for it, but I am curious!)

Did you try a 4gig SDHC card? Maybe it would support more then 4gig.

I've used resp. a 8GB and a 16GB SDHC card.
Putting books in to them and I get different results. Putting 192 books in the 16GB card, totalling at 10GB of books, the reader only sees 59 books.

Putting 60+ books in the 8GB, the reader sees 28.

The ebooksoftware sees them all though.

Using my 4GB NORMAL SD-card, it has no problem.

Has anyone else found the new update for the ebook library an improvment? I was browsing yesterday and found the sony store much faster than usual - no hangs or freezing. Its made purchasing from the store a little more tempting.

192 books totals 10 Gb? Just how big are these books?

I've had 1500 books on the memory stick but I didn't get anywhere near that number.

I did have issues with a corrupt lrf file stopping the reader from indexing the rest of the books - check the last book it does show in the list, open it. On the main book menu, where it says "End page X" does it say "page NaN"?

Still try a 4gig SDHC card just to check. Until you do, you'll never know what the problem might be.

Why should it matter if the card is 4, 8 or 16? The firmware says it's supporting SDHC cards 4GB or larger.

If it's buggy on 8 or 16GB, it's buggy.

The reader now actually corrupts the complete card after scanning!

I'm happy because the medical journals, usually in 2-column pdf's, are finally readable!
