That is a good feature, but WIFI isn't always available when reading the kindle while traveling.

I've had another look on amazon kindle ebook store and was unable to find a science or maths dictionary

If there is no W-Fi note that there are 3G eink Kindles (no data subscription) and Kindle Fires that have a mobile data subscription option.

I know there must be a site that sells Oxford dictionaries in mobi format (as proper dictionaries)... at least I believe so, there used to be collections floating around years ago, wonder if one could actually still obtain these books legally...

There are two free Kindle Oxford dictionaries of course.

Advanced Amazon search shows many (Oxford Quick Reference) dictionaries published for Kindle by OUP

A Dictionary of Physics (Oxford Quick Reference) by Jonathan Law and Richard Rennie is an A-Z but whether it is in the proper format I don't know.
