I was in the very first batch. It came available on a sunday a about 8 AM and I ordered at 10 AM. My screen broke while I was watching it. No presure on the screen at all at that time

My original Gen3 was in the same batch as yours, Ortep - ordered it the very first day it was available and I used it for 7 months with no problems. Wouldn't you think that a manufacturing defect would take a shorter time than that to show up? I must admit that I really have no feel for how problems like that manifest themselves.

I have no idea Harry. I only answered Maggie. But I can imagine the with a normal process most of the products will be OK. But if there is a tiny speck of dust under the display it will bent slightly. And normal movement wil push it further and further until it breaks the screen. It can take months and only if that dust is at a critical spot it will lead to failure. So not everybody is affected. I'm not saying that this is the case here, it is only an example.

Or if the screens are cut out from a big plate of glass the ones that came from the edges have more internal stress. Then temperature changes only can be enough to crack it after a while
