Hello, JSWolf, are you sure v9 will be released in the first quarter of next year?
Thanks! |

No, we're not sure. What Jon is saying is all that anybody knows - that the 9.7" screens will not be available before next Spring, so that is the earliest that a v9 could be released.
It's certainly not going to be the first quarter of 2009. 2nd quarter - perhaps. |

I have a V3 and I have read quite some book using it, including .chm, .txt, .pdf, .etc. IMHO, V3 is great for some text only files (e.g. .txt), but if you're gonna use it to read many A4-sized PDF's, I don't think it's convinient because the text is too small to read most of the time, I would like to buy a iLiad if I knew V3's no good for A4-sized PDF's.

nooob....
my experience with another user of V3...it is the original pdf maker who makes the "font" so small..until u need a computer to enlarge to the size you want but then u need to scroll side way to view in such a situation. Even V3 can enlarge 3 times, that's still depending on original font size. Out experience tells that for those who wish to creat pdf file, try using Font 18 or above so that PDF files looks better. I knew some user try to "squeeze" everything into one single page to reduce total pages...but actually the file size depends on number of characters..so, nothing to do with font size. U sure Iliad can read "small" pdf file by enlarging ...how many times???? just wonder |

I have found the best solution for reading pdf files on my Bebook (Hanlin V3 clone) is to use the Mobipocket Creator (Publisher edition) program from the Mobipocket.com website. This enables you to convert the pdf files into Mobipocket format. The creation process is a little involved but fairly straightforward. The results are extremely good for pdf files which are mostly text. If the files contain lots of pictures and diagrams then the results are not so good. I converted the instruction manual for my digital camera. The text is easy to read but the small format of the e-reader screen cannot really handle the many diagrams and sample photos.
