@mystika : here are pics of the cover I have. I have used it since I received it, in November 2014 so its been in use for almost a year now. It is not super 100% clean right now (I transport it in my bag for the school runs, where I also have kinder bars for my kids and just realized one bar must have melted in my bag...

I've had the black origami case on my Voyage since I got it nearly a year ago. No signs of wear yet. They are pricy, but worth it. I've tried other and cheaper cases for various Kindles over the years. Some worked okay, some were total failures. But the cheap ones often had cheap materials and construction and tended to not last as long nor fit as well.
The origami folds work well for creating a stand, but frankly I seldom read like that so I wish they were not even a part of the cover as it makes it awkward opening the cover. But that is not a big issue. Once the cover is flipped to the back they behave well and are not a bother. But when I first got the case I nearly dropped my Kindle a few times because I was not prepared for the cover folds to fold when they did. But I soon learned what was going to happen and how to deal with it. |

As a stand case the Origami is very good regardless of the device. It's the only case I use for my Kindle Fire but I prefer a book style case for my Voyage.

I think I will get the leather cover, but not the limited edition.(that one is a bit too expensive for my budget) I've been having it on my wish list, but didn't know if it would be worth the expense. I tend to get the super cheap cases and buy replacements often.
Thanks, Penny |

The reason fewer people choose Amazon-branded covers are because many people find them expensive - especially the leather origami case. I've seen used voyages on ebay with an asking price similar to that of the origami leather case. I've got the origami leather case, myself, and some cheap ones. As far as usability....I honestly can't stand the origami case. I find the device falls out of it if you drop it with the cover open. Props to Amazon for making the screen cover VERY thick, though. It provides very good protection - if you drop it with the cover closed. Regarding the "standing" feature of the case...I detest it. I read in bed and on the go. Even when I sit down to read, I feel more immersed if I hold the Kindle in my hands, because I love using the page-turn sensors much much more than I like tapping on the screen. Sometimes I read during lunch, but I find it impractical to have the origami case on it when I do because adds far too much weight, and I've got absolutely no problem with laying the device flat on the table. To me, $85 (because it is the limited edition leather version) is not a justifiable expense. But analyze your priorities. The question of durability is a difficult one, perhaps because I expect things to last a lot longer than they should. I believe a good case should last three+ years, and given that the KV has only been out for about a year now, there's not much to say here. I used it for a good 6 months before I purchased the Swees case after realizing how much I hate the flip-over-the-top action of the Origami case. I have to say, though that the origami case seems to be plenty durable. A few months of rough tumbling around in my laptop/messenger bag, and there is still not a scratch on it, nor is it worn whatsoever. I did care for it meticulously. You have to treat your leather to a good cleaning/moisturizing every three months to maintain that nice dead-cow-shine ![]() ![]() Another issue I have with the origami case is that is it very heavy. And I mean very heavy. I haven't weighed it, but I'd venture to say it weighs nearly as much as the kv itself. If you're going to read with it propped up on a table, then by all means, this point doesn't apply. But if you like to actually hold your kindle, it gets fairly tiring after 20 minutes or so. Having the Kindle stand by itself seems to me like nothing more than a gimmick. When was the last time you pulled out a book easel to read some Charles Dickens? Same logic here. Different strokes for different folks. Nonetheless, I find that it makes the KV look NICE ![]() I personally love my swees case now. It was ridiculous how cheap it was at about $10. I find this thing fantastic honestly. I know Amazon doesn't offer a book-style case for the kv (shame on them!), but if the $50 amazon-branded pw2 case I have is anything to go by, this is the exact same quality at 1/10th the price (save for the synthetic leather, which is of surprisingly decent quality http://www.amazon.com/Swees%C2%AE-Am.../dp/B00P21LJ02 Here's a video review: Sorry for the long post. I tend to get carried away so: tl;dr I don't like the origami cover, but you might. If I could do it over again, I'd skip the Amazon's price-gouging and buy a $10 Swees or Fintie cover and get it over with. Durability is not an issue with either one. Hope this helps, Dan Last edited by drgonzalez94; 10-15-2015 at 09:37 PM. |

I also use the Swees case. I will admit to having five of them
![]() I bought the Gold one from Amazon first for £9.99, then the Red and Blue from a UK ebay seller at £5.98 each and the Pink and Purple from a chinese ebay seller for £3.26 each. They are just that good. ![]() My origami is sitting in the loft. I should sell it but I'm hanging on for now as the nail polish I used on corners will affect the resale value and I am not sure how much to let it go for. |

![]() And excellent! Oh I'm probably going to be like once of those people who changes their phone cases every day, except I'll do it with my Kindle. I'm starting a new trend! |

I am about to suggest Omoton. But the rubber that sealed the leather in the front cover is very easy to peel and mine started to deteriorate like hell. I can't help but wished I got the Origami Case instead.
