I prefer reading on my ereaders, but I will read paper-based books if there's a good reason. I'm looking for a clear, legible screen, not similarity to a conventional book.

The device that offers the most "book like" experience is a book.

Depending on the type of "book" you like you will need to check out Hardbacks, Mass Market Paperbacks, Trade Paperbacks, Graphic Novels, Art Books.

Seriously, any device is fine. Try any - they are, essentially, all the same (different people have different preferences). If you already have a decent smartphone or tablet try pretty much any app (Amazon, Kobo, Aldiko, Moonreader, whatever).

None of them are the same as a dead tree book, but after reading for a short while you may find you prefer reading electronically. Tastes vary.
