It's a mystery
![]() The precompiled calibre binaries show the X11 one. Maybe it is Qt-built-on-Ubuntu that does this wrong. ![]() (You did test this on your Arch system using the frozen binaries for the sake of thoroughness? In that case, still a mystery? ![]() Oh well, there are worse problems I suppose (for me at least ![]() Last edited by eschwartz; 10-09-2015 at 11:54 AM. |

Thank you. This is all very helpful and interesting. The issue isn't that important, it's just that I have to pay more attention to where the end of the mouse pointer really is while trying to open those menu button drop downs. I'm glad you reported it to the Qt people. I'll continue to look at it on the Linux Mint side.

I spent some time tracking down the root cause of this issue and a fix, see
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-41151 I'm guessing that the distribution version of Qt patches the code to work with their default cursor theme, which is why it works with the system Qt and not the calibre bundled Qt. There's two hours of my life I will never get back. |

Thanks. It's just amazing that you can do all these kinds of things. I appreciate your work.
EDIT: I implemented your workaround. I'm using a set of fonts in an "aero-drop" folder. I replaced all occurrences of "DMZ-White" with "aero-drop" and it worked great. Thanks again for the work. Last edited by enuddleyarbl; 11-09-2015 at 10:19 AM. |
