Is this shadow normal for the paperwhite 3?

glad you were able to reach a decision. as others have noted, it's all in the eye of the beholder and sometimes a photograph can over or underemphasize the level of the problem.

for me, my small shadow in the lower right corner is incredibly faint. much less than i have seen on other PWs. i had one PW2 that was to me perfect (except for the faint banded shadow on the status line) but that one had a problem where it would randomly fail to wake and activate the backlight.

again, QC to me seems to be lacking on these devices...
