If you can control /dev/ntx_io by long press the light button like in Kobo Night Mode, maybe you can look in to it frostschutz.

Not all devices have light buttons, though.
If night mode is already involved in that regard maybe that addon could be extended accordingly. I might be able to add it as an unrelated side feature to my ScreenSaver addon. It could remove ntx_io, but restore it as the device goes into standby. Going into standby is something the ScreenSaver more or less detects and the light is only disabled some time after that, so the timing might work out. EDIT: I experimented with the screensaver idea a little. And there I noticed an issue with this idea: while it disables the immediate light change of the swipe itself, the Kobo still records which light level you swiped to, so - next time you boot or wake from standby the light will no longer be at the desired spot and then the mod freezes it again and you can't fix it without going into standby again. Somehow this seems more annoying than the swipe issue itself in the first place, that at least you notice and can fix immediately. EDIT2: Even more problems, ntx_io is also used for various other things, so this idea is completely off. It'll have to be an addon that just re-sets the light level every time you touch the display or something. Last edited by frostschutz; 10-16-2015 at 09:03 AM. |
