The choice is up to you, but I've been using nothing but ereaders daily for the last 5 years and haven't had a problem with any of them, all of them are still working with pristine screens, not even a scratch on the frames... PRS-350, Kobo Glo, and now the Kobo Glo HD.
You need to realize that the glass substrate in ereaders is fragile and needs to be protected and handled with a bit of care. Get a good case for it. Don't pack it inside a backpack or purse where some odd-shaped object could apply pressure against the screen, that will break the substrate. Don't do anything that will twist the frame of the reader, like putting it in a rear pocket and sitting where it might bend slightly, that will also break the substrate. Don't leave it sitting inside a hot car in the sun for hours or in freezing weather. I use my ereader daily and it goes everywhere with me. I've even dropped most of them a few times, but luckily the cover protected them and didn't cause any damage. You just need to be aware of how you handle them. I really don't go through any extraordinary measures to protect it, just common sense. And the extreme convenience an ereader gives me plus being able to adjust it best for my eyes, the front light that lets me read anywhere at anytime, is well worth that little bit of effort to protect the reader. |

@Ripplenger
Thanks for the recommendations. I am actually an avid ereader fan as well, I have couple of them too. I was just surprised that my AuraHD was so fragile. I abused my Glo hell out of it, and still rocking like the first day of arrival. I was never happy with the battery on the AuraHD as well. I had to charge it much more frequently than my Glo. |

It's very possible that because of the slightly larger size of the H20 screen that it takes less pressure to crack the substrate layer. You might be better off going back to a 6" reader. I still highly recommend the Glo HD, the screen is just beautiful on it.

Well I do not see any crack on the screen, it must be somewhere under the screen hard to tell.
I will look into Glo HD. How do you like the battery life on it? |

The substrate is below the top layer of glass, so you wouldn't really see or feel a crack in the screen at all. Take a look at this thread, the top post shows a typical cracked substrate layer and how the screen looks.
I never really checked the longest I could go without a charge, but I read daily and charge no more than every 2 weeks, I'd say more than 3 weeks most times. And that's usually when the reader is no less than 35-40% remaining. One of these days I'll actually check it. But I'm very happy with the battery life on the Glo HD. |

@Ripplinger
Thanks for the info. It looks similar to what my screen looks like. I should rest the case here I guess.. That is pretty good battery life for daily use. Do you use Kobo`s own reader? |

I don't have any other reader installed, use Kobo's with the patch installed, but I do use only epubs. Just my preference, many others prefer kepubs, but I doubt that difference would have any affect on battery life.
