You could probably take out the seam without it falling apart.
yes its the official sleepcover for the aura in grey. I think there's a manufacturing discrepancy in the op's one, either that or they changed the design at a later date. Not really a lot of space at all its tres goldilocks; just the right amount. I bought it in a whsmiths here in the uk way back when the aura came out.

I would try cutting it off with my Klein cable splicing scizzors. Small rugged heavy duty about 5 inches overall length. Home Depot sells them for about $13.

This is super old so it's doubtful anyone still cares, but although the cover touches the screen, even without a screen protector the cover hasn't scratched the screen.

I didn't realize how old the thread was and I was about to tell you the same.

I have the leather cover and the seam from the pocket does touch the screen, but I have had no issues. I think it's just the screen protector that was causing your problem.

So in the intervening years, have you ditched the screen protector?

I actually only noticed the marks after I removed the screen protector. I'm sure they were there before but I didn't really care because of the screen protector.

Thankfully it seems like the cover by itself has been enough to keep my screen from getting scratched!
