ETA: oh wait, I spoke too soon. When I try to download an underground app with above app, it just tells me to download amazon underground, which is just the white background Amazon shopping app that has everything under the Amazon sun in it. Argghh.

(And yes I'm interested only in the free underground apps. I learned not to buy apps from the Amazon app store because they don't get updated in a timely manner like apps in the play store.)

I can order Underground Apps from several different apps. 1- from the orange appstore app.



2- from the shopping cart app, which turned from white & blue into black & orange.





3- Accessing Underground Apps from the black & orange app allowed me to create a shortcut app called Amazon Apps. It's white & black and I don't have a pic.

Hooray for Amazon. They sure know how to simplify things.

I still have the original Appstore on my phone. I have no interest in the underground one as I have paid apps. Google, in its wisdom, decided that 3 of my paid apps would not run on my phone even though the 4th one did. Amazon had them on sale for 99 cents so I repurchased them. Another paid app was not on Play store.

All were Audubon guide books.

I ordered one for my wife. I won't try to repair the Kindle KB 3G she was using.

(Well maybe if they cut the $42 price for the replacement screen down...)

Fires and ereaders are two totally different worlds.

She usually reads inside for short periods so a Fire should be fine.. She just used my Kindle KB, 3G because we had it.

I hope it works out, I know when my K3 3G wears out I will not be replacing it with a tablet. Not at all the same for reading. Hopefully a Voyage (wi-fi) since they are about the same price as my K3 was when I got it; I want the physical page turn buttons.

I pre-ordered one. Just left my employer and had to give back my Mac and beloved iPad. I'm on the fence about buying an iPad Air 2 as Apple didn't upgrade it this year. I'm ,asking due with my daughters iPad mini 2 which she doesn't use.

Even though I'm an iOS guy, my tablet use cases should be handled just fine with Android: watch Netflix and Prime movies, read ebooks, surf the web, Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Zite for news.

$50 is a helluva price point and its from Amazon, not some unknown Chinese clomer

Has anyone ordered the $50 tablet? Just ordered and was given Oct 23 as a shipping date! I wonder IF they have sold out the initial batch or just playing with the shipping date they gave me. I hope it arrives before October...want to load it up with some movies to take on vacation. I also hope the 7 hour battery is realistic...plane trip is a bit over 8 hours.
I would like to know of other shipping dates..if you have order one.
