I think the Underground is mostly to try to ensnare Google Play users.
I looked today and some of the apps offered through the underground are not compatible with any devices I have through Amazon including the original fire.

The only Amazon apps I put on my LG Volt and Galaxy Tab are the paid ones I get for free. Otherwise, Google is my go to appstore for free apps. The biggest problem with apps from Amazon is that they don't get updated as often as apps from Google.

I have no Amazon apps on my Galaxy Tab. I even re-bought an app so I didn't have to go through Amazon.

I don't mind Amazon since my apps are mostly used for entertainment.

This one is called My Movies Pro. It has been worth the money as I now know at a glance if I own a tv series or movie.

I ended up liking Amazon's app store because I can share apps between my devices and my mom's devices. So we can just buy a game once instead of once per person. It works out nicely for us. I try to buy stuff from Amazon's app store now instead of Google's just so Mom can use it too if you she wants. (Not to mention I have hundreds of apps I got free already.)

I also ended up having to re-buy some of the Where's my Water/Perry games because Disney decided they weren't compatible with my devices they were previously compatible with on Google Play, but Amazon would still let me install them. Still kind of pissed off at Disney about that, and haven't bought a single app from them since. I don't see that changing either.

uh oh; I was about to play Angry Birds Slingshot Stella when this message popped up:

Amazon Underground cannot be used with data tracking turned off.

>>> blah, blah, blah <<<

If you would like to continue to use Amazon Underground apps, please update your settings to allow data tracking.
Removing app...

It came up and wouldn't go away right? I ran into that, you have to update the Amazon App Store app before it can work. Why it doesn't actually tell you that, I don't know. But once I figured that out everything ran fine.

I ended up snagging Where's My Water 2. Disney really fucked the sequel up with IAP and stuff. (Either nag your Facebook friends or pay to unlock every set of 30 levels past the first!) but the Amazon Underground version has everything unlocked from the start, no annoying roadblocks. Had to install it on my 32gb HD+ then sideload it to the 16gb, but it works fine.

It'll work. I just don't want to turn on data tracking. If I never use Underground, I wouldn't miss it. I have more than enough freebies I've collected over the year's with FAOTD.

Completely agree. Probably why I am not bothering with the Underground.
