Donation-ware as idoit suggests is alright - most open source licenses allow for donation-ware.

There is a forum at this Mobileread site for that purpose, and this technical forum is not it.

http://webchat.mobileread.com/ then type #kindle-dev
(i.e. https://irc.mr.gd/)
or
https://kiwiirc.com/client

or:
Install mIRC or any other IRC client. Pretty easy.

I will need some time to remove files from the last (commercial) user of the site, but the landing page is at:
https://gunshi.org/
Graphics and open source package integration by TwoBob.

@nahte: If you can't access that landing page without using a vpn or proxy - let me know.

For folks who have joined within the last two years (since twobob left here), this twobob:
https://soundcloud.com/twobob

Ignore this (and similar):
http://www.monstermusicsc.com/Artist/1221289
Any such site is selling his free music without paying any royalties. The scum.

As I mentioned, that IRC is quiet at best. I think I provided my contact info there.
Mind you, I'll be a tad busy over the coming weeks but I'd be still interested to see where this thing goes.

https://github.com/nahtethan/dxg-display

Notes

- Still Building, so I need the access to edit this post in the future. (Why I can't edit it sometimes?)
- Not clear how to push commit to github from Linux, using webpage to commit now.
- Contributor is welcome.
- Have not done opensource work before, suggestion is welcome.

Good move. Thanks for accepting my suggestion. Very nice job indeed.

Which flavor of Linux are you in? Git is in most their repositories. When installed, committing with git command is very easy.

You *should* be able to edit any of your own posts. Although there are limits on how many times you can edit within a span of time, and people who do a lot of editing often find themselves locked out for an hour or two.

If you're new to git, maybe checkout this guidebook? https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-B...the-Repository

Note: git comes with a rough gui -- `git gui` to use -- although there are several other options here: https://git-scm.com/downloads/guis

...

GitEye actually looks rather decent, I must say.
For a GUI, anyway. I must confess I still prefer using the CLI.

Also, I suggest including the bin directory for an already compiled mylcd.

Don't version-track generated resources just for the convenience of people without a compiler. It pointlessly grows the size of a repository and forever after you will have random binaries floating around in your history.
Over time that builds up and the repo becomes unbearable to clone.

Use the Releases feature to offer downloads linked to a release tag.
