Thanks for the explaination and the suggestions
I build a command line in a VBS script to convert and export epubs and to azw3s to a single flat folder My current 'plan' is to redirect the list of IDs to a temp file, read that in and construct a export command line My fallback will be chaley's (not charley's) indeed ugly command |

@kovid -- Just a suggestion to possibly increase compatibility with the new caliber search option
![]() ![]() 1. Although it's easy to redirect the search output (at least in DOS) to a temp file, maybe a --save <file> option to put the ID's into a file?? 2. On some other calibredb options and maybe ebook-convert options add the ability to load the IDs from the above file?? Just a passing thought for your spare time ![]() |

@phossler: I really dont want to spend time adding option everywhere to load ids from a file just to workaround windows abysmal default shell -- if you intend to do a lot of work at the command prompt, I suggest spending some time familiarizing yourself with a more powerful shell -- modern windows comes with powershell by default and you can also install many traditional unix shells via cygwin or the msys project.

Understand -- I use WSH since it's close to VB/VBA which I'm familiar with
I can (fairly) easily write a VBS script to make use of the output of the new search option Thanks again |
