dropbox syncs immediately and very quickly in my experience. Google drive/ one drive sync when they fell like it, and much more slowly.
sugar sync was so slow I quit the trial.
YMMV.

I have the same dropbox account on 3 PCs, and a tablet., it has not messed up any syncs, ever, to-date.

My problem with Dropbox is that there's no suitable plan for me. The free account has too little space, I could not make enough even with referrals etc. (my library is almost 9 GB and growing). The next plan is 9.99 for 1 TB. It's too expensive and I don't need so much. Currently I use OneDrive and Copy, both are 20 GB or so.
Dropbox works very well and I would use it if I could fit my library in there. Unfortunately, I can't.

I think I have about 14 GB, with referrals.

A number of MR members have graciously helped me out.

My Calibre folders live in my OneDrive folder, it works well, no problems so far. But I have hourly backups of my system for redundancy. Don't keep it on cloud only. But I do have suggestion for you:

Use rsync to keep your Calibre library synced between your bedroom, living room and OneDrive.
