If you think you might read in the bath then get the H20. It's also handy for holidays if you read on a beach or by a pool.

The beauty of Kobos is that you can install a lot of custom stuff. If you install Koreader, it comes with Coolreader which allows you define the tap-zones how you want (at least the Android version lets you, and its a port). Of course, it's not for everyone.

Unless you need/want the water resistance of the H2O, it pretty well comes down to the size and if you can live without the external uSD card slot. |

A Reader in a pocket is a Reader waiting to end up with a broken screen. Don't put it in your pocket.

So, I bought the glo hd today and spent half the afternoon loading my 2000+ books (because everytime I do this some books decide they don't want to go to the device anymore, and I have to go through the usual rigmarole: modify epub, verify epub, try again, which mostly works). But now I'm comparing it to the h2o and I'm very impressed, and surprised after reading so much "much of a muchness" when comparing the two.
The new screen is so much better that kobo rightly decided to have the same number of tiles on the home page, contrary to my old glo and my present aura 6". Yes the real estate is smaller, but characters are crisper and I can read with narrower margins and slightly smaller font size. The screen seemed a slightly warmer white in the sun, but under electric light, the colours are closer, only even more even in the glo hd. I'll see how it goes, but the glo hd may become my main reader. PS: it was on 3.15.0 out of the box |

I have both the H2O & Glo HD. After about 2 weeks of exclusively using the GloHD, I have decided that I prefer the H2O. There's absolutely nothing wrong, per se, with the GloHD; in fact, I think the GloHD is a little more comfortable to hold than the H2O. My preference is based purely on the larger screen size, I just like the extra real estate!

Those who have H2O - have you got a cover for carrying it around? What are you using?

Covers for the H2O are being discussed in Kobo Aura H2O covers.

Absolutely! IMHO, the "smaller is better" meme for gadgets/electronics does not apply to ereaders. |

Thanks for the cover recommendations. I'm always fearful of breaking the screen when I go out if I bring my H2O with me I always also bring a Kindle with me, and I put the two together in a tight fitting bag so that the Kindle become a screen protector for the H2O. Reading on the HD / H2O does feel very luxurious. I have the Kindle Voyage too, and it doesn't feel the same.

![]() The Voyage feels way "luxuriouser" to me than the H2O. I love both, for different reasons, but the build of the Voyage feels much, much higher end than the H2O. |

This is my big dilemma right now also...deciding between the Glo HD or the H20.
