BR -- I didn't want to suggest that because I don't know what differences there might be between the DOCX that LO creates vs, the one MSWord creates, and what calibre is looking for. Perhaps it is high time someone made a definitive test.

@eschwartz - I have imported dozens of EUC DOCX's that I am pretty sure come from Writer with no problems or glitches, also I think Kovids test DOCX was created with Writer.
Doing "a definitive test" sounds like a 'make-work job for life' racket to me, maybe the EUC could fund with tax payers money - or DARPA ![]() BR Last edited by BetterRed; 05-11-2015 at 01:54 AM. |

Just did some very unsystematic tests on getting a document from OO to EPUB. There seem to be two choices of plugin, plus the route via Calibre.
I took a document - book style, no graphics - that arrived with me as PDF. Exported to Word DOC, opened in OO, saved as OD-something-or-other. Two of the export routes (including Calibre) resulted in very messy code, each word defined as a separate span. The third gave a pretty clean result. I'm not going to say which plugin was best, from this very limited data. Do your own research! |

True. But, when tasked with an eBook conversion, it's the one I'm so often given!

I know, that PDF is often the one and only available resource. OCRing (Abbyy/Omnipage) is the best way to retrieve a low messy epup result.
