They had more colors at the time I ordered though, I have a medium shade of blue which I like.
I put my Glo HD in one of these and found it extremely difficult to get it back out. In fact I cracked the case (not the reader) getting it out. I'll be cutting and filing the case edges before I try that again. I like to be able to take the reader out and read on it sans case.

The readers are always difficult to get out of those snug-fitting cases, even for the regular Glo, and you have to do it very carefully. I was trying all the cases and had been popping my Glo HD out at least 5x without any problems though. I usually do one corner at a time by just pushing down and out on the corner of the cover, never trying to pull the reader out, then moving to the next corner. I've always been more afraid of cracking the reader, I didn't know the covers could crack at all.

After starting this thread, I found the above recommended in the main Glo HD thread. Just got it yesterday. For the price, I'm satisfied. The cover flap on mine is slightly concave (as seen when closed), and the fabric hinge has some slop such that the flap doesn't always line up perfectly when closed. Were it a $30 or $40 case I'd be disappointed, but at $14 I'll stick with it, at least for a while.

Kobo Glo HD Official Sleepcover - differences between black and cream

Just received a cream coloured "official" Kobo Glo HD Sleepcover.

It's a very nice cover now that I've spent more time with it. When folded back the magnetic clasp does a very good job at hold the small flap against the large flap. It holds well with either the big flap over the small flap or vice versa.

Here's the rub:

I tried the black one at the store again. As it turns out, the black sleepcovers are less flexible then the cream coloured ones. The magentic clasp does hold the small flap against the big one, but not as well as the cream coloured one primarily because the black sleepcover's material is more "springy" and doesn't fold as flat as the cream coloured one.

Weird, huh? I suspect that the cloth material inside the sleepcovers is different given that they are different colours (ie. different dyes and perhaps different material used to manufacture it).

I suspect over time, the black one will likely wear in and lie as flat as the cream coloured one too.

I'm planning to return the cream coloured one as I think the black works better for me because the darker interior contrasts less with Glo HD and is less distracting to my eyes.

I just got the 'Cover Up' case for the Glo. It fits my Glo HD perfectly. Solid case overall, it definitely feels strong and will offer good protection for the screen. The auto wake up function works fine. I'm not crazy about the color (makes my Kobo look like my Kindle 4th gen!)but will be a good case to last me until they start releasing shell covers for the Glo HD. Definitely good price at 9.95 with prime.

That is a common problem with this seller's cases. At least the same thing happened with mine. I have purchased at least 3. One of them had the hinges glued wider at the top than the bottom, so they sent me a replacement.

I've ordered a similar style from China, hoping it will be a little better quality. $9 on ebay. Red! Hope it will be here next week. In the meantime I am using Coodio's leather Glo case, the one I cracked (mentioned above) which now has the top and bottom inside corners snipped off and filed smooth. Now that is a sturdy case! But adds a lot of bulk.

You should cancel that sleeve or if you already have it, return it. A sleeve is just a waste of money because one the Reader is out of the sleeve, you have no protection. If you are going to buy something, buy a Glo Cover and use that until you find one you specifically for the Glo HD that you really might like.

When I got my H2O, I had no cover for it. I never took it out of the house. I never read with it in any place where if it dropped, it might become damaged. I made sure nothing ever was put on top of it. I made sure it was very well treated until I got my cover for it. I still used my Sony T1 most of the time until I get the case.

Sorry, but this is a personal preference kind of thing. I use a Pelican case, which completely protects the device during my daily travels, but I have no cover on the device itself. I'm willing to take the risk that I won't do something to the device while reading that a cover would prevent the damage from. And face it, no cover is really going to give that much extra protection to the device if you drop it from any reasonable height.

I wonder if they are not mostly re-titled Kobo Glo covers... A lot of them have the same design as the previous covers and they seem to suddenly appear en mass...

(btw, Gecko will start selling theirs on June 1st.. Looks nice).

Does anyone have this OMOTON case:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XVSOUNQ/

I can't figure out from the picture how it is going to stay closed on its own?

The SPARIN http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NL9OD2I/ says "and the magnet also keep front cover firmly closed with your eReader screen" but I don't see how that would be possible.

The generic AMAZINGCASE direct from China has an obvious metal tab and magnet to keep it closed

I don't have that particular case, but it looks very similar to a case I have for the Paperwhite2, and this cover definitely has a magnet that keeps it closed. The magnet is needed for the sleep function, there's just not any visible metal parts, it's all within the cover.

http://www.amazon.com/Moko-Amazon-Ki.../dp/B00H1OR9RK

As much as I hate the PW2, I love that case for it... it's the thinnest case I've ever seen, yet is very sturdy.

Edit: In fact I just ordered one of the Omoton cases for my Glo HD, thank you for helping me spend more money!

The Kindle case has a bump-out on the side where the front flap can magnetically stick to the back. (Like the AMAZINGCASE above)

The magnet that turns the GloHD off (bottom right corner of screen) won't hold a cover flap closed (it doesn't stick to anything, it just magnetically flips a switch). So I'm still not sure.
