I guess I am the odd ball because I do not like full justification in what I read, I prefer the left justification. It is just something that I got use to.

As it works now, once you are in the library (and after the first, one-off plugin setup) and ready to transfer the book to your kindle, you just press the plugin button, choose the format you want to hypenate - AZW3 or EPUB - and you're good to go. |

![]() Everything I saw around, except probably lines of code in software, is full justified. I don't know where you got the habit to ragged right! Of course, if I were to use the awful full justification without hypenation that default kindle use, I would consider left justification too.... |

I'm an oddball too. I detest both hyphenation AND left justification. Bigger spaces between words, on the other hand, don't particularly bother me...

I did the upgrade. I was kinda hoping to be able to use the page press buttons in search results, but they still don't work. Still need to use the swipe to go forward and back in search results.

Have you made this request to Amazon? They do take notice of what people ask for, but if you don't ask, it's not going to happen!

Amazon do not listen to customers. That's why the margins are still wide, line height is still wide, available fonts is limited, and font sizes are limited. These are things customers have been asking to be fixed for a long time and Amazon has ignored every single request. So asking for this other fix is going to also fall on deaf ears.

My margins on my e-ink kindles, including the Voyage are not wide. Neither are the line spacing. There are 3 options for those and most times I am in the middle. Depends on how the book is formatted. But the margins on the biggest setting always are very close to the frame. I wouldn't want them squeezed on there, would look horrible.
Now the Scribd app on the other hand, huge wide margins. That never has been an issue with kindles though. Not with the fires either, or the android app. I actually own all of these devices, several, so I know. Amazon have listened to customers. Why else would they have come out with the Voyage and give me my precious page thingies back. ![]() |

I have to agree with Atunah. I don't have any problem with the margins or line spacing on my kindles or the iOS apps.

Even better would be a pop-up window, like on the home screen, that allows you to input what page of search results you'd like to skip to instead of having to go through each page one by one. (And I did make these suggestions to Amazon, though who knows if it will make a difference.) P.S. I prefer left-aligned, no hyphenation, and I'm fine with the stock line-spacing options, though I tweak my margins through CSS and use the font_ramp hack to adjust font-sizes ![]() |

The navigation controls on the Kindle interface are pretty inconsistent. The page turn buttons don't work in all situations. Sometimes it's swipe left/right to page or scroll a list. Other times it's swipe up/down. This type of experimentation to 'discover' the controls would be bearable on a regular instant-feedback touch screen but on an e-ink screen, it makes it seem sluggish or unresponsive.
I've been asking for a zero-margin full-screen mode and who knows if I will ever see it. It would be helpful for books that use images for each page (many children's ebooks). Most PDFs already have their own margins so adding to that seems silly. And for a PDF that already has page numbers, also having the kindle page number below is redundant and reduces the size of the page. Quote:
For the front page interface, they should devote one row for recent books and for the rest of the rows, a view of your library based on whatever view you like. Yes, I have sent all these suggestions to Amazon. Last edited by badbob001; 05-10-2015 at 10:13 PM. |

Dear members: The above is an opinion, but it is not made clear in the quoted post and, as such, is a misleading statement. If he had merely stated, "In my opinion, Amazon.....," then that would have been a clear indicator of Jon's opinion on this issue, rather than one presented as a stated fact. When dealing with language and the representation of language, it is especially important to look at the attendant motivation that guides that representation. Communication (again, in the post above) is used as a pragmatic end taken to an extreme, and posits a rhetorical stance beyond the mere use of rhetoric. It is presented as an agenda. Keeping these things in mind is helpful when an individual (any individual) makes sweeping, judgmental statements presented as factual statements when, in fact, they may not be that at all. For more on this (if you're interested), you might wish to study Kenneth Burke's Dramatistic Pentad, a core structure for examining motivation.
