I bought a cheap Chinese (~$200) Android tablet with Retina screen for comics.
This gave me colour, resolution, and processing power to bubble-zoom/colour correct/etc with good apps. Apps that support CBR/Z, or DJVU or PDF etc. I use my ereaders for books and sometimes manga only. |

Yeah, but as I said in the OP, I'm tired of reading on tablets with their backlights, and I already have one (a Win 8.1 tablet to boot), so tablets aren't an option in this discussion, it's purely about how good the ereaders are at it. Kobo's readers already support CBR/Z and PDF anyway. =)
And for what its worth, manga are comics and will be over 99% of the comics usage of the ereader, so colors aren't an issue in the least, apart from grayscale obviously. =) |
