Yes, you just have to be jailbroken. I admit that is a slight problem these days...

Have I insinuated otherwise?
![]() You professsed shock that it was even possible at all. I pointed out how it can be done with a minimum of fuss, comparatively. Do note that a variety of useful hacks have been compiled and shared. I will grant you there is no appstore for easy download, but it isn't really hard to search, once, for something here. In other words, an Onyx isn't strictly necessary. I will happily be the first to admit it will be preferable, assuming you have money to blow on a new device -- ereaders do not typically shine at such usage. |

Hacks are wonderful for the people who want to take the time to do them. Even more wonderful is to be able to use your device the way you want to *without* hacks. Especially since the newer Kindles can't be hacked without the use of a soldering iron. Shari |

Kindles are incredible little devices, and should they have a wider, more easily accessible set of features, they would be my choice without thought. But what was appealing to me about the Book was the ability to "open it up" with only moderate hacks. I can't solder lol.
I have the opportunity to get a Nook simpletouch from a friend, and will be installing Android on it this week, but my sights are now set on a Onyx T62! I had come across the T68 but wasn't sold on it. I think the T62 is perfect, and will be on the look out for it or something like it to go in and buy new. Like it was mentioned, you get what you pay for, and something designed with the functionality I'm looking for is by far the optimal choice. Thanks for the help guys! I've been reading this forum for years now and knew yall would be of help when I finally decided to make the plunge! |
