But replacing xdg-open might be interesting anyway.
I actually took a look at xdg-utils recently -- wondering why something wasn't working in a packaging script, I eventually concluded I must have imagined it ever working. I also discovered what a mess it is the horror.
You do NOT want to know!

It might indeed, but if I add it to the list of projects and put it in the right priority list (with SWMBO at the top obviously ) than I don't know if it ever gets done...
