I will have a look at mine tonight or tomorrow and post here what is written on the back of the Canon charger.
I don't know about your Canon charger, but every charger I've had for a Canon camera or camera battery (and I've owned 5 Canon digital cameras including two of their digital SLRs) has worked with both 110 and 220 voltage. All I have needed is an adapter for the plug.

Personally for you, to satisfy your hunger for new pics feel free to have a look at 2 albums.

Czech Republic. Kutna Hora. Bone Church.

All decorations of this church are made of real human bones. You can study the structure of the human skeleton in it

Austria. Vienna. Hundertwasser's art.

Enjoy

OK. On the back of Canon DS8101 charger:

Input 100-240V AC50/60Hz
22VA(100v)-30VA(240V)

Input: 0.22A(100v)-0.12A(240V)

I think it should be suitable for American's standards.
