Rainylotus, you might try using a site such as http://www.ereaderiq.com/ They don't sell ebooks directly: but you can search by author or title to find retailers that do sell the books. Most importantly for you, you can set a search for author or title, and set an acceptable price range, and ereaderiq will email you if and when that book goes on sale at any retailer they track. It's certainly helped me add ebooks to my collection that I couldn't afford otherwise.
If by any chance you use Calibre to handle your ebooks, I think that program also has a feature to search available bookstores, and I think they cover a wider range of stores. As far as I know, however, you can't set it up to notify you of price reductions. KentE |

The key seems to be "without spending a fortune." I've found that being patient is important to finding great deals. If you get in a hurry to have such-and-such book or something by so-and-so author, you'll overspend. Having said that, I recommend ereaderiq.com. The site has several nice features, but the one that I recommend to you is the one which gives you recent price drops on Amazon ebooks (but often those price drops are at other ebook vendors, too). I think that you will find that setting up a search is straightforward, but if not let us know. You can set filters for many helpful criteria. Note, especially, that you can limit your search to a certain genre. If you don't want to have to check the site every day, you might want to use their "price alert" feature. Tell them what ebook that you're interested in, and give a price that you are willing to pay. They'll contact you when the ebook hits that magical number. Be aware (not "beware" ha) of the price history feature. A quick way to access it is to click on the black line (often it's squiggly) just underneath the price and markdown amount information, on the far righthand side, of each ebook listing. It can help you by telling you when the ebook has had a price drop in the last year+, and what the price was. That can give you an idea of when the ebook might drop in price in the future, and by how much, and help you determine whether to buy the ebook then or wait to buy it in the future when it may be cheaper. Finally, you can search for any ebook sold on Amazon by entering terms in the search box, such as the author's name or title. Last edited by GtrsRGr8; 03-24-2015 at 11:52 PM. |

All three of the authors you mention have some United States library eBook presence (I know having just checked search.overdrive.com). But without knowing what country, and state/province/county, you live in, it is impossible to guess if your acquisitions librarians buy that type of eBook. |

If it she was willing just to borrow, she might have trouble finding a large selection in what she likes--few libraries that I know of have a very deep selection in any one genre or of any one author. |
