I was thinking it might be some nutjob who has taken a dislike to calibre, or more probably its owner. I've no idea how one might intentionally plant hacked files onto ISP download cache servers - but I have absolutely no doubt it can be done.

All my books are backed up to a cloud but I copy the folder drop it in the OneDrive folder to add it to the cloud. I do not know how to back up anything in Calibre.

If there is a different way to back up then I do not know about it and if so please explain

If you've dropped it into OneDrive then you're OK - you might want to drop the calibre config folder in there too

Go to Preferences->Miscellaneous and click Open configuration directory, keep the explorer window open, close calibre, go up a level in Explorer (backspace). Now copy the ...\calibre folder to your OneDrive folder.

Now do the download, uninstall, install - nothing will go wrong because you have backups.

Okay BR I have that copy and downloaded a fresh version of Calibre.

I will try to get it removed and installed again tonight. But it might not happen until Monday.

Hey BR

My problem ended up being the registry on my computer. I had to set everything back to factory settings. Thanks for all your help. Now to get all my books back into Calibre

Also thanks to everyone else who helped.
