Ok, I got this new battery. I installed it a few minutes ago (12.30 pm ITA time) and put it on the wall charger.
Screen is always the same...should I wait for another 24 hours to complete the recharge?

SA: Yes.
LA: Battery management controller is software controlled, your software is not running properly, so the charge control may be set at the minimum charge rate.

Another question please. Led turns orange to off after a few minutes charging. Is that right? Sorry for all these questions but I didn't have time to look for instructions

Don't trust the LED. I've had it turn off for no apparent reason when connected to a perfectly fine charger.

(In my experience, the USB/power stack is fairly finicky to downright crappy on these devices, it only recently got better on the newer devices, those running on completely new hardware [iMX6/Wario, i.e., PW2/KT2/KV]. And that's not a Kindle-only thing, the iMX5 Kobos are possibly even finickier, as are the Booken, etc. You get the idea).

Even with the new battery, the screen is the same as before... What is wrong?

At this point, I'd reseat the screen connector (Flexpcb cable near the edge, behind bottom right corner of screen with K3 held normally. It pops off straight upwards with the K3 face down). Its possible you disturbed it the first time you opened the kindle. Don't pop it off and back on repeatedly or try to clean it - the connector is moderately delicate and you don't want to make things worse.

Ok. The screen flex cable is located on my LEFT facing the main board.
I tried to unplug it and then plug it again. NOTHING.
What should I try?

EDIT. I found there's a hole on the flexpcb of the screen. I damaged it. Bye bye kindle.
It's almost impossible to find a kindle LCD replacement screen here in Italy...

I assume this happened when you opened it for the battery?

That sucks - but is not unexpected if it was the first time you opened something that delicate and fiddly.

Over here in the UK, its scarcely worth getting replacement screens as 2nd hand K3s are often found in CeX stores for not much more than the price of screen + shipping and they have a national stock search on their website so its easy to find one. You don't risk damaging a screen fitting it either.

You could try to obtain a faulty K3 that doesn't have a screen problem (e.g. one that is stuck in a boot loop, crashes or is otherwise unusable but updates the whole screen) then transplant your main board, new battery and case back.
