I'm glad it works well for you. I have a little trouble with it, but I could probably get it to work better with practice. Yes, it would be great if they offered a full-screen version. Clearly the components are all there. I don't know why they haven't done this.

Well, I sort of do. I suspect iRex doesn't own that part of the code, and the company that does isn't seeing enough benefit to investing in developing it further. iRex would probably have to pay for a full-screen version, and they don't seem to want to invest any further in the iLiad.

Unfortunally there a no good opensource hand recognition software available also.

People said they can twek tesseract to do handwriting as well, but its still an enourmous hack, and I'm not really proud of tesseracts results even on machine printed text.

I don't like the current one-line handwriting detection in the iLiad. Because I cannot simply do numbers and letters without switching settings, secondly one has to write strictly on to the given lines, it cannot find a line of your writing on its own... or ajust to different text size...

Actually I"m not even proud of onenotes text recognition.

But I discover I usually don't need textrecognition at all, I write my notes on the iLiad like pictures, and I view it like pictures. Just like if you worked with traditional paper.

The critical difference is that you can fan quickly through pages of traditional paper to find a particular note, but can't do the same with eInk. (I find I can locate notes quickly if I move them to a computer with thumbnail icons, though.)

The primary reason I'd like to have HWR is so I can search for notes, not so much because I want to compose long passages of text with the stylus. But perhaps a thumbnail viewer of notes pages would be sufficient.

Another feature that would help would be the ability to make new folders within the Notes area quickly and easily that would also copy templates over. I guess a script could do that, though....

I print out my eink pages with the laseprinter on paper, to be able to scan through them. I know its very paradox, isn't it?

Why don't you just put your iLiad in the photocopier?

Nice idea, but it would result in less quality loss than printing the notes digitally.
