well it is possible to email the books to your kindle account from calibre. that should work, it is probably best if someone who uses that method talks you through it.
connecting with a USB cable should work also, either with calibre or without.

if you connect your galaxy with a usb cable does it then appear in "my computer" and can you look at folders like with a disk drive ?
( sometimes you have to take another step, if windows thinks that it is a camera , not a drive, then there is a setting that you have to change in the galaxy menus )
