@CraftingGrandma - to lessen the chances of that anyone else being yourself, you might want to consider doing regular backups of your calibre library, see ==>> How do I backup calibre?

Even if it were feasible to build a 'reconstruct library from device' facility, that won't help if the device fails, is lost, dropped under a train, stolen etc.

If you need advice on setting up a library backup process there are folks here who can help you with that. It would be useful to know if you're using calibre on a Windows PC, an Apple Mac or a Linux system.
