See my post above. I think you might find the program I'm talking about of use.

Repligo is a pdf viewer for android, not a converter on Windows.
The idea is to read it, no?

Well, check out some of the other viewers.
EasyPDF is generally well-reviewed.

No need to fight the format, just load and read.

I tried to access this. I downloaded it, but the unlock code they sent me was just blank, so I couldn't use it. I downloaded on my old version of Firefox. I just tried it on Chrome (since my old Firefox sometimes gives me trouble) and Chrome said the page was no longer available. But, thanks. If you have any other ideas as to how I might get it, I'd appreciate it.

Update: I tried again, a couple of things, but it finally worked. Downloaded from their alternate site and then asked for an activation code from my pc after I installed it. They sent me a new email and this one had the code. Thanks again - without your extra message I would have just given up. Appreciate it.

No problem. I hope that the program converts your files without trouble. Sometimes it does mess up just like any other program.

Here is my dilemma.
I have a new Galaxy Tab S tablet, with Moon+Reader Pro installed. I have loaded three books on it after much difficulty figuring it out. I had to upload to Drop Box then download onto my tablet. Two of the books are fine. they are in E pub format. The third is not available originally as an eBook. So when I found it, it was in PDF. I converted it to e Pub with Claibre. But the problem is, the pages do not display as you would expect a book to be rendered. Instead I get two tiny pages on the screen. I can expand them with two fingers to make larger, but then the type is not the best. And needless to say, this is not a comfortable way to read. This is my first attempt at using an e reader.

Thanks

Jim
theoritically a pdf to epub (html) proper conversion is impossible, all those conversion tools rely on css properties set on div elements, so in output epub files there are no tags like h1, h2, p strong. this means poor reading experience.

btw i am currently working on such tool but i am stuck after some level of success.

Sometimes if I run the pdf thru another converter like MOBIPOCKET before I convert it thru Calibre, it works better with converting it to epub. My two cents...

I use EZPdf Reader on my old Galaxy Tab 2 7" I use it to read my comic books and anything (like a magazine) with pictures of any kind. I'm sure you can find several different programs for the same purpose.

For reading epubs (or txt or rtf), I load them on my Ectaco Jetbook Lite, which can't do anything else, but what it does do, it does do well.

I think it's easiest to say that any device meant mainly for e-reading (and that can't be easily used for something else) is an e-reader, and while I can e-read on my Tab, I can also play videos and music, games, and do other things that I might do on a small computer.

ABBYY Finereader is really the best thing out there for converting pdf to epub. I recently got ABBYY pdf Transformer (they had a super low-cost deal) and that works better - less of a formatting issue. It still won't convert something scanned as a photograph, but if it is searchable, it is better than Calibre. Expect to do some editing.
