It has changed for epubs in recent firmware, but I don't know about the kepub reader. It is quite a while since I have found a book where the font size couldn't be changed. But I think even with the new firmware there are problems with rescaling the font size in epubs if you specify the font sized in absolute units, so it is still a good idea to always use relative sizes em, %, etc. instead of absolute sizes px, pt, etc.

Yes, it is best to use relative sizes. But, since 3.12.0 ignores px and pt (the only ones I've tried), I think it's a non-issue for now. I cannot say if it will still be a non-issue for the next firmware update. I would like absolute sizes to work.
