Well my mom was so desperate that she learned to use a paper white :-)
It's not as easy as the button one bc it has book covers instead of a list of books.

Not if you change to "List View" rather than "Cover View". You'll find it helpful to read the User Guide.

I found out that I could get a brand new Kindle 5 for 113 USD here in Norway, but I wasn't willing to pay that kind of money so I bought a used Kindle 2 for 52 USD.

Always good to have a spare if my first one breaks down. I've actually used my first one so much that the cover won't fit in the hinges anymore, it falls out.

It felt awkward to use it without any cover at first but now I'm used to it.

That's interesting - Amazon UK don't let third-party sellers sell Kindles.
