I can also say that for a long LONG time I've had issues with freezes after a tap of the screen.

Well, the freezes you are describing are not but merely little-colder-than-warm issues.

In my broken H2O (I still have it, still out-of-stock in Mediamarkt, or at least, in the Mediamarkt store by my house), when it got frozen, sleep/wake up cycle didn't worked anymore (through coversleep or through brief power button pressing), neither normal power-off (1-2 second power button action).

Well, a final update in order to close the cycle (and because of a question in my broken HD thread).

Let's say two weeks ago (I don't exactly remember), I got the H2O replacement from Mediamarkt when it got replenished...

So as a summary, the full story goes here:
  1. My original HD got broken with no drop on my behalf.
  2. Kobo customer service is just useless.
  3. Nevertheless my online retailer www.redcoon.es works perfectly fine. They sent me a copy of the invoice I had lost, and even launch a return and warranty repair process with no extra cost for me. (Even the return shipment was free!!).
  4. At the end. (one and a half month later but I was warned nevertheless), my HD was declared unrepairable and discontinued. But I just paid 10 € (the difference between HD and H2O), and they sent me a brand new H2O. (Again with free shipment!!).
  5. Meanwhile I had bought a H2O at brick-and-mortar Mediamarkt.
  6. This H2O also started having frequent freezings.
  7. Again, no problem within Mediamarkt, other than H2O being out-of-stock for some weeks (Christmas season you know).
  8. (I also want to say that I actually bought my H2O in Santander (a city in the north of Spain), and made my change in Madrid...)

As I said in another post, Kobo just doesn't deserve the retailers that sell their products...

I posted on here earlier that I often had problems with my H2O freezing on me and then having to put it into sleep mode and waking it to unfreeze it. For the last month or so I have not been having this problem.
This is my first touch controlled ereader, all my others have been button controlled, and I'm thinking maybe I just had not developed the proper touch technique because everything seems to be running smoothly now.

Well, it's not related to the software. I have an H20 with 3.12.0 and previously used 3.11.0 and I have not had these issues.
